navbar...

Hi everyone, as many of you often also come across my problem, i thought it wise to find out what to do. I have a navbar im making for a personal site, but i want it to stand out. I dont know what font to have it as?
any suggestions greatly appreachiated.

Its too dull and flat, try adding more depth or brighter colors to give off a feel to it. Right now its boring and dull, add some life to it.

I'm no designer by any means, so I can't really give any pointers, but it does need something - it looks OK currently, but it also looks like x00's of others out there - not really unique or different.
