  Old  tutorial website

hi,

I have a few questions:

If I have a design in psd how should I code it ?

and If I pay someone to code it does it will be hard to add tutorials to my website whitout a script ?

Can you show me little design coded in css or php .... so I can see if I can easily add things with dreamweaver.

thanks for your help !

Well, if you have a .PSD and it is designed for a tutorial site, you might want to code it using divs for the main structure and tables for anything that would be outputted by PHP in tables or other tags.

And if you were to start a tutorial site, I highly suggest buying a script for it such as TutorialMS (http://www.tutorialms.com) and hire someone to code it for you into the script. This way, users can add their tutorials and it would make your job about 20 times easier than just adding them in manually.

And I don't understand your last questions. Do you want someone to give you an example of a coded layout so you can test adding things in?

I agree with Andrew. If you want to start a tutorial site, go with Tutorial MS. Its an amazing script and i'm pretty sure it comes with a pre-made template. All you would have to do is add tutorials

You should learn to code with HTML and CSS.

Yes it will, without any use of a scripting language like PHP.

I just had a look at Tutorial MS and found one thing very funny.. deleting tutorials. Here's a quote from the 'remove tutorials' page:

To find the ID number, find the tutorial you are wanting to delete and either mouse over the link and look in the bottom left corner of your browser or copy the link and paste it somewhere and it will look similar to this:

http://tutorialms.com/demo/tutorial_out.php?tutname=Tutorial_Title&id=25

The bolded number (in this case 25) is the ID number of the tutorial.

After you submit the ID number(s) you will be shown them so you can be sure it is right.
Some great thinking has gone into that feature
