Old  How much is my computer worth?

I'm looking to eventually sell my computer to help fund the purchase of a Mac. How much would YOU pay for it, or what do you think its value is?

Intel Core 2 Duo E6420
ASUS P5N32-E SLI 680i
PNY XLR8 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB
Thermaltake Toughpower 750W Power Supply
Western Digital Raptor 150GB 10,000 RPM 16MB Cache Serial ATA150 Hard Drive
Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower

Brand new I paid $1500 around 5 months ago. It also has a DVD/CD read/writer optical drive; nothing fancy. What do you think its worth now-a-days?

You might just be able to hackintosh it. Asus boards are pretty good for it.

I've read a lot about hackintosh, and it seems a bit to risky. I don't want to mess up anything, and the chance of everything working correctly is very low.

Considering the fact that it would cost $1400 to replicate my build (brand new components), and I paid $1500 for all of the parts brand new 5 months ago, do you think I could get around $900 if I include a legal copy of Windows XP ($100) and a 17" HP monitor that retails for around $100-$150 brand new?

To be fair most people probably want slightly larger than a 17" monitor, especially if they're buying it for a gaming/entertainment machine.
I think $800-$1000 potentially, you're probably likely to get more towards $1000 if you sell it privately rather than online.

Should easily get $1000, I would try to get more personally. Give it a fresh install of windows and clean it up for the buyer.

i'd give you $8-900 for it if i was in the market. your best bet is to try and find a local buyer. craigslist.com is usually pretty good for that.
