The colours on the new one look very nice. Overall its a nice template but very simple and flat.

There is too much high contrast going on in there Scott. The red on each side pulls your attention away from the content. It might need to be muted or something?
Site structure looks good and should be usable.
Could be good to have something at least saying something about what the site is all about? Like a slogan or something? Or a content heading?

I agree with Julian on the contrast; also, the logo seems to be a bit fuzzy to me.
Otherwise, neat stuff. Nice work.

Yeh, the red sides attract more attention then they need and also I think you should fill up the gap next to the 'zoobig.com' logo. Overall its pretty neat though so just make some small changes and it should be fine.

I shall change the red slightly, and I don't know. Put some more text or something to make the space where zooBIG is less empty

I never saw the first version so I can't compare.. But maybe a swap in colours, as I still find it a little distracting. Very nice other than that though.
