Can anyone please explain to me what the channels in adsense are actually for and also give examples of the sorts of channels you would use for a webdesign site?

channels are used if you have several sites. Say you have 2 sites, just type in the 2 URLS into the channel box and then whenever you earn it will tell you what website earnt what and the amount of views

I'd recommend making both channels with www. and without www. as they both generate different revenues

channels are actually used to track and compare the performance of individual url/folder.
