This is a solution to combat the recent spam attacks we've had by a certain disgruntled individual. Will remain so until we find a worthwhile solution to combat all spamming (bots/people alike).

Whilst this temporary solution is in place, the staff will make sure we keep a very close, and effective check on the posts of new members.
We appologise for this, and agree it's not a permanent solution to the problem, however it will have to do until we can find a better solution to the recent spam attacks.

No, but you people going to that site and messing with them is what caused the problem. I told you it was a bad idea, but did you listen? Clearly, no.

1. It was started before then
2. You never said anything till after it started. I had one funny convo with the guy and others took it way farther. After that he started spamming more.

This is about thread moderation not the fiasco with the free unlimited host.
Stay on topic (without arguments) please.

So you'd rather moderate the posts of the 20+ people who join up per day on the forums until when, they've made 5 validated posts each? (that's just a guess... when do you release the moderation queue?) So over the coming week you guys will be moderating the posts of some 150 or so people, all because of a very small group of spam accounts set up by a disgruntled free hosting provider.

Why not just moderate the spam rather than block everyone? If you want moderators to be online to catch a spam attack, just recruit a few more for the coming month or so and only allow them to moderate if/when there's an attack.

I guess more concisely, I'm just wondering why you would choose to punish the many over the actions of the few.

Its because you cant have mods on all the time, this way there is no sitting spam waiting for someone to come online. Out staff team is completely volunteer, you cant assign time slots or anything.
