Old  Very strange ThunderBird error. Please advise.

Hey Guys,

I just had Thunderbird open reading my mails, and I then closed it down.

Upon the computer notifying me of two new email messages, I open up Thunderbird to find that the auto account wizard opens. Which is asking for me to set up an account, and none of my emails are displayed.

Therefore it seems like I cannot access any of my emails.

Help please.

Regards.

I'm sorry to hear that -- that would be a nightmare for me. Unfortunately, I don't know of a solution. This has happened to me before with Firefox ( lost bookmarks, extensions, etc ). You should do regular backups of Thunderbird with mozBackup.

I have had this problem before, I open task manager and quit the process. Then re-open again. Always works for me

I'm afraid neither of those worked.

It seems like I had a corrupt JS settin file, so I found the location of my profile, and backed up the "Mail" folder.

I then created a new profile with the profile manager and transfered the old "Mail" folder. The only thing I lost in the process were my email account settings.

But oh well, its all good now!

Thanks anyway guys,

Regards,

Craig.
