  Old  Karma/reputation system

Hello,

Well on another forum im on they have a karma/reputation system thing, basically if you post something constructive, or something what helps. (Also can give bad)

Its just a way to see how trusted they are, its only a suggestion.

There is a reputation system built into this release of Vb i'm sure....

Don't honestly see a point in it though, I like to keep forums simple and "hack" free.

I agree with you on the clean forum part.

Thought wouldn't it be helpful to users that are seeking information and opinions on such things if they knew where certain people ranked in the community?

I've experienced systems like this in other forums, alot of the time people can abuse it and award people negative feedback and such or award their friends in order to bump their ratings up. I feel it would lower the community.

I agree with you there, however I believe there are systems that allow only admins / chosen users to add points + / - to users over time based on certain posts and such.

I personally wouldn't agree with a system like this, however I have found it quite useful on a bodybuilding forum that I use. It's alot easier to take information from people that have high standings, as opposed to random people that don't always know what they are talking about.

I'll look into it Bennett, I have a large update planned for tf shortly....including a new header, re-think of the forum structure and a couple of neat features...perhaps this could be included in that update
