Old  The Pros and Cons of Paid Traffic

The Pros and Cons of Paid Traffic
provided by dizbe.com

Everyone knows about the millionaires of the internet. Obviously, these people become our idols, as we desperately scrounge around trying to make just a few quick bucks. However, what most millionaires don’t tell you, is they actually invest their money to make it. Although many people feel that paying for your traffic is “cheating”, others know that it’s a faster way to make money. In our society today, money is what keeps us going. Without it, we would be financially desperate, and many businesses would be forced to close their doors forever.

There are many pros and cons to the website traffic world, On the positive side, if an owner were to pay for most of their traffic, they would not have to spend hours of their day trying to convince more people to visit their site. Since many people have other day jobs aside from their website hobbies, it is not only unrealistic, but highly difficult to keep a website updated daily, and to keep visitors steadily streaming in. After all, traffic is what powers a websites income. Without hundreds of visitors a day, our websites would be pointless and, of course, would generate no substantial revenue.

One of the most popular ways of generating traffic through pay, is programs like Google Adwords. Adwords is a pay-per-click business which allows you to pay for your traffic. The way this works, is if you have a site (ex: music downloads) and you’re dying for more users, you can by ad space for specific keywords related to your site, and when people search Google using those keywords, they will see your website on their results page. This is a great way for any website who is in desperate need for a few extra eyes, but unfortunately, pay-per-click programs like this, can get very expensive. You must realize that every click a person makes, you will be charged a certain amount of money. It is crucial to set limits for yourself, because it could turn out in your loosing hundreds of dollars. However, if you have some extra money to dish out, this is a wonderful way to increase your traffic.

Another great way to generate more traffic is to hire a consultant. Many businesses now employ SEO specialists or website builders. These people will do all the work for you, and it will make it much easier to place high in search engine rankings. If you have the owner of a website, and don’t know much about SEO, and don’t have the time to learn it, it’s a great investment to have someone highly knowledgeable in the field do it. This also can cost thousands of dollars, so it may be wise to create a budget and stick to it. Although the money is more than worth it in the end, not everyone has that much money to spend.

A simple, inexpensive way to generate more traffic, is to buy adspace on popular websites. this is a great opportunity for someone who has only a few hundred dollars to spend, but still wants to generate more traffic. Popular blogs and websites usually have affordable blank spae available for people just like you. Although there are some websites who will charge hundreds of dollars for just one month of adspace, there are others who sympathize with you a bit, and aren’t trying to empty your wallet within minutes.

A large downside to paid traffic, is often times, these visitors will be un-targeted. This means that the visitors come to your site with completely different interests. Therefore, it is smart to stay away from companies who send your website to thousands of random people. Although it sounds like a good idea, it will hurt you in the long run. Un-targeted visitors who visit your site, will most likely never come back.

In conclusion, remember that there are many ways to generate more traffic to your website. All of these ways will not only give you a ton of new visitors, but it will generate you revenue if you have programs like AdSense on your website. After all, the more people who visit, the more expensive the venture, and the quicker it will pay off. Next time you hear about a millionaire making hundreds to thousands of dollars a day, maybe now you’ll know how they did it.
