Onscreen recording program
Hopefully ive got this thread in the right place, just didnt think it really classified as a web design resource! lol
Anyway...
I need a free (shareware etc) program that can record what you are doing/seeing onscreen and save it as a video file.
Regards

even though it isn't free, Camtasia is what I use.

Fraps is game only and the free version only records for a max of 30 seconds I think.
I heard about something called camstia not sure of exact name, but it can record into .swf file and outputs its own HTML page with the file embed. Which is ideal if you wam to use it for the web

You can use Fraps for up to 30 seconds with the free version. I think it is best used for games though...
Edit - Beat me to it !

thanks for the links guys Will look into camtasia/snagit however wasnt looking to spend the $40 it was more of a personal hobby thing rather than needing it for a piece of work or anything.
Any more suggestions?!

I'm not too sure if there is anything for free other than the trial version of Fraps. Even if you do decide to use the trial of fraps it only works with video games, like has been said. If you have a video camera or video capable digital camera, maybe you could set it up on a tripod and record your screen?! Although it definately will not be the same as if yo were to use Camtasia! Thats the only thing I can think of that is free
