IRC Channel
It would be cool to have an IRC channel for talkfreelance. I would love to have convos with people and stuff. It's easy to set up, and I'm sure you could round up an active staff to mod it.
Cheers

This has been talked about before.. I doubt it will happen mainly bacause it will take away from the general discussion of the forum.

I would be there, although, I am not completely sure about what the turnout would be like, I suppose we would have quite a few members idling it. I know I sure would...

I agree, while it would be fun, I would never do it (if it was my forum). People would not post on the forums anymore, and it would not grow.

I completely disagree. It would bring even a better sense of community to this board, which would make people want to post here more with their online friends. I think chatting via IRC and posting on a forum are two different things, and I hightly doubt it would take away from any of the existing activity.

Well, it's been discussed to death before and i've never been one for the idea...maybe if we get bigger (that's all I can say!).

I also think an IRC would reduce the amount of discussion on the forum.

I will start idling in quakenet
I use to be a part of quite a few smaller forums that had IRC channels and it never slowed down the discussion. The IRC is more for just real time BS'ing and stuff. I think some things just go over better in a chat enviroment. Obviously if I was going to ask any webdesign/freelance/biz question I would come to the forums. But what if I needed an answer ASAP.. IRC is quicker.
IMHO IRC is just where people hang out and BS. It is not really forum worthy discussion.
*me runs to quakenet! See you there

I think this is a great idea. Theres many times where I've been on TFL and didn't have anything to post, but thought it would be nice to talk to everyone that is online automatically - see what thier doin etc :P
