How many hosts have you had in the past 3 years?
Just interested in how many hosting companies everyone has been with over the last 3 years and your reasons for changing hosts (if you did). I've been with the same host for a few years now, but i'm changing at the end of this month to a dedicated server (probably with surfspeedy)

I have only had one host in the past 3 years. I have had no need to change hosts because I receive "free hosting" (well not really free since I sought of worked for it in my first freelance project). However if I was to have gone through with any of the business ventures I was devising I would have definately went for an ultra fast dedicated server. There are many advantageous having a dedicated server over shared hosting - not just because of the storage space.

i had 3.
the first one i had wasnt a real company, just a friend's own computer as the server. so sometimes it got a little slow and it didnt really give me much, no cpanel, i had to have a subdomain, etc.
the second host i had gave me hosting for a template, but the host was sorta slow at times and had some downtime.
right now im hosted with a friend, but its not a home pc or anything, he and his uncle own a server and im hosted with him. speed is great and downtime is very very rare been on it for about a year.

My first host was some cheapo free web-hosting company, but their speed and uptime were rubbish. The I got some free hosting with some-one over the internet through MSN. I made the template for my current hoster, he was so pleased he gave me extra space and 5x more bandwidth then I was meant to have.
