Tax // Trademark
Hi,
Im 17 and im starting my own business up. I am worried about two things that hopefully the member here can help me with:
1) Tax, What are the rules on having to pay tax if you are earning money in this way by web design or coding, Do i have to pay and how and when?
2) Trademark, Is it necessary to become a tm? I have heard from some people you are aloud to trade under a name thats not already trademarked, however if someone trademarks the name, its tough to you really, As you havent registered it.
can i do this and not register it?
Also, How much would it cost and what would it involve to register it?
Thanks for your help,
Steven

Trademarking simply protects your brand name, logo, or whatever else you use to represent your business. I don't know about the UK, but in the US it costs $350 (or $275 if you fill out a certain form).

Well any tax question is going to be very hard to answer as tax laws vary from state to state, and country to country.
Generally however, you have to pay taxes if you're earning morning. Usually there is a threshold however, meaning that you need to earn over a certain amount before it's taxable.
As for trademarking....a registered trademark is an R. TM can be used at anytime, but will not be valid if someone actually registers it, and as for the costs, EEight has you covered.
