What to do when staff your relying on don't cooperate?
I've got a staff member who when given a deadline, I can almost guarentee he'll go over it, should I just kick him off the team?

Yes. He is being paid for a job that you expect to be done on time, If he is not completing the work on time then he isnt doing the job he was hired to...
Although I would give him a warning, afterall if he is a great employee (Standard of work) you may not want to lose him.

What sort of thing should I say though, i've told him before but he's ignoring it. He runs another site and his site will always come first... I'm considering writing him another email giving him a final warning.

He can do the work well, but he isn't paied, he is a voulenteer but he still wouldn't like the sack!

I'd see if you can get anyone as good as him, if you can sack him and hire the other one.

Really depends on how long he is going over the time. If he isn't getting paid for something - he's hardly going to put it top priority.

Well he said he needed a week to do something, I gave him the week, 4 days later, he hadn't started meaning it was 4 days late...
