Old  Why would you switch to a Mac?

I know there must be quite a few Mac users here who probably started out on computers with windows, for what reason did you make the change? I have been brought up on windows and i've used Macs before but I would never want to change, I can't see any benefits from using a Mac at all.

I think alot of people buy Macs because of the connotation that's associated with them, they're very good looking compared with computers and they're almost always branded in the latest films being used by the lead star. I often here that it's better to design on a Mac, why? What is the different between designing on my 3ghz PC or designing on an apple?

Anyone thinking about making the switch? Anyone all ready made the switch?

I was brought up on Macs but I prefer Windows. I dunno, I really think it's:
a) Personal preference
b) Just to be different
c) Macs are just as good if not better for editing video and graphic design thingies.

Personally I don't see the difference.

Im guessing it's to get experienced with the mac environment, because a lot of corporate jobs in this field require it

Back "in the old days" the high quality design software was more geard for Mac (I think this was all based on the GUI of Mac and the non-gui of PC/Windows 3.1). Mac had better graphics capabilities, etc. So, a lot of designers started on Mac and just stayed there. I think these days, as far as graphic design use is concerned, you're better off with PC. I think people go Mac because of the "cool" status it seems to encompass and it is currently more secure for surfing online.
