Please Review - LinkRetailer
Hello All:
We are launching a new site/service today into beta and would love to get everyone's feedback on it.
It is called LinkRetailer - http://www.linkretailer.com and it is a marketplace for buying and selling text links.
We would love everyone's feebdack on the site, the service, and the entire offering.
Thanks,
P.S. As a special bonus thank you, anyone that writes a review can PM me and I will send you a Promo Code to list one of your links for free.

First of all, I do not like the design what so ever. Secondly, the idea is good, i like it.
To make this websites more, lets say.. useful, there are quite a few cosmetics that should be taken into consideration before you decide on launching.

Just improve general layout and cosmetics as Daxx said, make the design more appealing, i now for one i'll use services just based on thier design, such as images upload sites.
I'd much rather use www.flickcabin.com than www.photobucket.com because i like flick cabins design better.

Honestly, it needs a new design from top to bottom. It needs content design/structure.
This site, design wise reminds me of an old website i programmed back in 98. Time has changed, and so should the design.

Wincyclopedia, basically.. White-Line Studios is metaphorically speaking. Breaking what he said down simply makes this:...
You wouldnt use a website that is generally un-user friendly.
Take for example, there are 2 websites called "UPLOADanything". The two websites have the almost exact software/system. But, between both... the design simplex are extremely different. Site number one, is highly extrodinary, keen to the eye, and extremely user-friendly. Site number 2, looks like something you'd get from a out-side market, cheap and tatty, oldschool, ugly.
Which one would like to use more often, site 1 or site 2?
What i'm trying to put accross, is that your website does not meat 'Site number one's' standards.

I must say I do not think LinRetailer is unuser friendly.
The design is not a Web 2.0 feel but it is pretty straight forward and easy to use.

Yes it is, but the colors and just general deisgn don't really appeal to anyone, try using some subtle gradients and light colors, you may say i'm obsessed with flick cabin, but somthin maybe similar to that design.
Take a look around at some design on site similar to yours see what they are doing and then do it better.

We often do that with our projects... this was the first project by one of our new designers.
