In my opinion, the more simple, the more professional, and the more it leaves an impact on the customer.

For example, take the nike swoosh, all of us know how to do that with the pen tool in photoshop... but when you see that dont you think of Nike? Or what about the verizon check mark, so simple, but very effective for the verizon company.
