it's blasphemy to talk about text editors and not mention Vim

it's extremely lite
it has different modes which means you can totally scale it to suit your needs
it's the default editor on all Unix/Linux systems
you can control/disable/configure every single aspect of the editor via its configuration file or even from within the editor

many many many more features. IMO, it's the best editor on the planet...but it takes some getting used to. you will probably hate it for the first month of using it, but once you get the hang of it, you will realize exactly how convenient it is and you will never want to switch ever again.


by the way, does DW's "find & replace" feature support "regular expressions"?
