Old  Steps - Starting your own web hosting company

Hello,

This is my first real post on these forums, so I thought I would make it a good one.
We have all seen those threads talking about what it takes to run a web hosting company, and the truth is, it doesn't really take much. Just have a lot of money, good knowledge of HTML/CSS and know how to use IRC. (you will also need A LOT of time)

First, think of a name for your web hosting company, purchase domain name, and choose a great design. I wouldn't suggest buying from TemplateMonster!!

Here are some great places to look:
http://www.loadingdeck.com/
http://www.templatedeck.com/
http://www.jaymeblackmon.com/ - They charge about $800

Next, purchase the entry level VPS from Servint.net
Don't worry, it's a fully managed VPS (add Fantasico to the order)

- $62

Next, Purchase:
WHMCS from WHMCS.com
Integration for WHMCS
mywhmcs client backend from myWHMCS.com
Configuration

~ $220

Next, buy the following
livehelp.stardevelop.com
nutsmail.com themes

- $150

Allow servint to install nutmail's theme

Integrate LiveHelp with your sites pages, if you wish, ask WHMCS to add livehelp to the WHMCS on your site

Depending on your budget, you should buy advertising either from CSSmania.com or CSSEM.com.

- $100

That's it really, you can get a web hosting company up and running in less than a week and under $600
