I used to run a web agency in Sydney and when we shut down, we moved all of our clients to Anchor.net.au. They have excellent customer service and are really patient in terms of setting things up.

Artashes in right in saying you're better to host in Australia - this will make the site load much faster and also show up in local searches which will be great for you.

And yes - go with the cheapest possible account. You will need a dedicated IP for SSL, but as Astashes says - outsourcing this end of town might help if it is your first time.
