The amount of garbage in the marketplace makes me want to cry sometimes - I barely ever go in there nowadays...

Helping someone might be rare but it'd be a way to contribute. Article writing is too much to demand? 1 article and the marketplace is open for you to post in. Everyone that comes here has a skill/specialism in one thing or another (other than spamming), if we can use that to get quality content regularly on the site it's good for the community.

It should be a honour to post in the marketplace, too many people take it for granted & spam the board just o access it. The majority of people that come here simply don't care about "TalkFreelance". They just want to make a quick buck and spam their services every now and then - and that's not the way to go about in a community. If you just let people post junk in the marketplace, it'll get out of control, the serious people that come here won't bother filtering through the crap being posted and serious members will receive less views on their sale threads - people will be less bothered going through all the marketplace threads & pages to find what they need.

If you really want to go open the marketplace for everyone to post in, atleast have an area or filter for dedicated members or quality sellers - but again, this would create arguments. You have to remember, quality threads over quantity. But I don't think this is the right road to go down in all honesty (just my point of view).
