I am trying to get into SEO myself. I had one client who engaged an SEO firm last year, a £300 initial fee with £50 per month. From the ftp logs I see they accessed the site the day after signing the corntract, adn never again throughout the year. They added/altered front page title , and added a link to a database, which they own. That was it as far as I could make out.

I have a client from this year who I have managed to rank for the product he supplies and his country, Scotland. However I do not seem to see him on a Google search for the item he supplies without the geographical location. I'm not sure what to do with this to be honest, but as you can understand he wants to be on the front page. ... it's out of my control, isn't it?
