as far as the word graphic design goes, there isn't any. as pointed out above, graphic design is the creation of communication from a medium to an audience through the creation and strategic use of line art, form, contrast, shadow, typography, colour, etc.
the technical skills are what separate them. film/television is primarily going to be motion based, where print design requires a lot of pre-press & printing technology knowledge.
but design is design. whether you're designing (directing) the movie trailer, designing the web site or the poster (or 3d backdrop/cutout) that you see at the theater the same rules of design theory apply to all of them.
