I would go with the Nikon D50, for sure. It gets great reviews, is from a great maker, and there are a lot of lenses that you can get for it. If you are only publishing to the web, though, you might want to look at a used Nikon D1. You can get them off eBay for around $300 used, and they are very rugged and robust. The only downside is that the resolution is not good for prints over 8x10. With this said, it is a good camera for those who publish exclusively on the web.
