And we are hosting only 3 proxies at the moment, so I don't see how you could say the server was 'weak'. However, if the site was loading slowly/timing out, it might be due to network congestion.
I would recommend at least 2GB of RAM, dual-core CPU, and SCSI disks to start off so that you have some growing room.
