I had that problem with the few centimetres too long thing fitting my studio together :-/ that's why I ended up with a custom jobby from Ikea... Two straight sections made of birch wood that were about 5ft long and a 1/4 circle joiner, about 3 ft across and made of beech wood to make the L shape. 3 of the heaviest duty legs available and a big metal frame thing to hold it all together.
