I did a commersial once.
The trick was to export all the frames as images for achieving best quality, the video guys manage the rest in compiling the images into a video. Sorely the QuickTime output was terrible.
Another thing to keep in mind about that was "KEEP IT SIMPLE" I used cycles and counters for pausing and random movements and had to rework to a simple single-timeline animation because on export these parts were just missing.
