I think that the fact that since vBulletin 3 came out, everyone seems to have went for slight variants of the default vB3 style. If you look at a lot of the forums that apply nowadays, they all look pretty much the same as far as structure goes. This forum looks a lot more original than the rest, so it'll win, almost guaranteed.
