Dreamweaver can code complaint tableless css, but again it is all down to the user.
uhh, dw doesn't code, it makes coding easier.

This is the crap that comes out of imageready.......
imageready is hardly considered an html editor.

I've noticed from my experience with Dreamweaver, as is any other editor, adds un-necessary coding to the documents.
it all depends on your settings. i'm not even sure what add-ons people are talking about as i've never had issues with such a thing. dw has the little help pop-ups for coding, but it doesn't add anything that you don't tell it to.

Does GoLive help with CSS?
not a personal preference, or maybe, but no, golive is an inferior html editor which i compare to frontpage. i've used it and prefer dw.

Even though the code is not stable isn't it faster to fix it up than to do it from scratch?
possibly, depends on how bad the code is...

Because most people in the business don't have the money to...
if it's a business, you should have the finances to purchase professional software.

think back for a moment, and then type everything down...
depends on your typing skills

to be honest, dw is just like any software, it's the user that makes it effective or a waste. there are benefits to using software as opposed to a simple text editor. but, it all depends on developer preference and convenience. as a professional, i think of it as investing in something that will bring a benefit to my clients in turn benefiting my business.

i have nothing against text editors or individuals who prefer to hand-code. if that's what they prefer, than by all means do it. with my background in design and growing knowledge of standards-based development, i can use dw efficiently and effectively.
