Photoshop is also miles ahead of it in bitmap capablities. Most designers do not require the work of the built in scripter, as well as, illustrator goes hand and hand with PS for vectoring(was well illustrator's vector features are by far past firework's.). I do suppose it's an ok choice if you are not familar with all the workings of a basic website.
