Iframes are not the only way to push a file to the server without resorting to the traditional methods. There are alternatives, but each have their problems (as do iframes) and as far as I see it none are perfect at the moment. Hopefully the situation will improve given time. Using the Flash player for file uploads has been getting a lot of attention, and support, recently for example.

Besides flash uploading, what is there though?
I'm not trying to argue, I'm seriously curious about alternative solutions to iframes and regular form submission.
